Green Belgian butchers shop tiles - Céramique d'Hemixem, Gilliot & Cie
Antique Belgian butchers tiles, decorated with green underglaze transfer depicting sheep and a cow. Intended as borders in early 20thC butcher's shops, these examples appear to be new-old stock, which are original but have never been tiled onto a wall. The reverse of each tile is moulded with a 'Made in Belgium' roundel, along with the bold 'H' maker's mark of Céramique d'Hemixem, Gilliot & Cie.

Condition:
All are in nice condition and display beautifully from the front. They look good standing among displays or could even be mounted on a wall as their original purpose.

The back of the top left corner has a small insignificant scrape.
#2 cow
Minor nibbles to the back edge.
#3 sheep
There are a couple of tiny flea bites, but none that draw the eye.
