A white Ironstone Wedgwood Etruria plate, produced in a limited run to commemorate the 50 year Hyde jubilee Ox roasting on 17th June 1931. Wonderfully decorated in crisp under-glaze black transfer with a detailed profile of an Oxen and its keeper, surrounded by a roundel of intertwined bushels and bannered old English typography below celebrating the occasion. The rim of the plate features an intricate decorative motif of oak leaves and acorns, with an armorial at the top and scrolling banners naming the respective Hyde mayors of 1881 & 1931. Marked to the reverse with the Wedgwood Etruria black transfer, as well as an embossed Wedgwood made in England mark.
Perfect original condition with no damage and minimal wear.
