An oversize Osram ceramic light bulb. Made by Colokial Pottery, Stoke, England, for the General Electric Co. Ltd.
With opposing black transfer print advertising on each face, hand painted gilt around the bayonet fixing and Colokial stamp to the base.
One side features a minstrel trio who are 'Singing the praises of Osram lightbulbs'. Below it is printed with: Makers of the famous osram fluorescent tubes (inside a tube outline), Sold in Britain, Canada, and the United States. The Wonderful Lamp.
The other side features the famous Osram mother pushing her baby in a pram, along with the slogan 'An Osram lamp is mother's treasure, Her well lit home's a constant pleasure'.
An incredibly rare piece of mid 20th century advertising.

Perfect condition with no chips or cracks, glaze crackling and wear to the gilt around the top. One tiny nibble/gilt fault on outside of rim (1mm).
