A mid 20th century circular enamel sign for the 'Erste Wiener Wach -u. Schliessgesellschaft' - 'First Viennese Watchdog Society', made to be displayed on premises protected by the company.

A very well made, slightly convexed plaque with thick enamel in a striking black, yellow and red colourway. The pictorial of a crossed pair of keys in the middle are covered by the word 'Bewacht' (Guarded) in red, with the societies name around the outside and the address of the headquarters in Vienna.

Good original condition with a fantastic sheen and deep enamel. Two chips to the front, one around the bottom fixing hole, one just below the top left fixing hole, with a couple of scrapes on the edge next to it.
