An early Harris's sausage plate.
The centre of the plate is filled with the pictorial black and grey transfer print of 'The winner of the pork sausage derby'. An Edwardian jockey is riding a charging bull across the winning line, doffing his cap to a packed grandstand behind, beneath is the address of 'Harris's Corner West Smithfield'.
The rim of the plate is decorated with a red band, black and red pinstripes, and around the edge are the words 'Harris's Sausages are the best' in bold black lettering.
The reverse of the plate is stamped with 'Not to be bought or sold, The property of William Harris'
