Portsmouth Parish Infirmary white ware jug
Regular price £130
A banded white ironstone pouring jug, with a very rare blue transfer print to the front for Portsmouth Parish Infirmary.
The base has the black transfer royal appointment stamp of Real Ironstone China, made by William Adams & Sons of Stoke-on-Trent.
A very unusual piece of Edwardian hospital kitchenalia and likely to be the only one of its kind remaining in existence.
175mm tall (6-7/8")
153mm Base Diameter (6")
The banded blue transfer has 'ghosted' slightly and is blurred but legible. Firing marks and slight wear in places but no chips or cracks. The handle has some old gritty glue on it which is now rock hard, but it is not a repair, just a drip from something else and is only on the surface. It has been left to avoid damaging the glaze.
