Enquire About This Item

A banded white ironstone pouring jug, with a very rare blue transfer print to the front for Portsmouth Parish Infirmary.

The base has the black transfer royal appointment stamp of Real Ironstone China, made by William Adams & Sons of Stoke-on-Trent.

175mm tall (6-7/8")

153mm Dase Diameter (6")

The banded blue transfer has 'ghosted' and is blurred but legible. Firing marks and slight wear in places but no chips or cracks. The handle has some old gritty glue on it which is now rock hard, but it is not a repair, just a drip from something else and is only on the surface. It has been left to avoid damaging the glaze.
