A set of Victorian Wedgwood tiles, decorated in under-glaze blue transfer print with etched scenes of various game & gun dogs.
Four of a set of six produced around 1880 by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, these wonderful tiles show four different naturalistic vignettes of country game including the Partridge, Hare, a gun dog being startled by a grouse and another gun dog with a double barrel & the spoils of the hunt.
152mm square (6")
Good condition with minimal wear marks and little glaze crazing. A couple of tiny nibbles around the back edges. The Hare tile has a small insignificant scrape/chip on the bottom edge, approx 1cm from the bottom left corner. The partridges tile has a small firing imperfection/scrape on the left edge.
