A large and heavy antique stoneware egg preservation jar, with an under glaze 'Eggs' transfer and embossed with the Price - Bristol makers mark.

A well used utilitarian piece, with some hardened deposits of the sodium silicate based preservative still coating the inside.

337mm tall (13-1/4")

228mm approx shoulder diameter (9")

216mm base diameter (8-1/2")

 

Good condition with no damage. Wear, firing and usage marks commensurate with age, deposits of preservative on the inside and some streaks running down the sides.
