An early 20thC white ironstone butter pot, complete with it's original lid and in fantastic condition.
Moulded in a coopered barrel design, with bold black transfer under-glaze 'BUTTER' lettering to the front face. Embossed on the underside with 'England'.
20.3cm wide (8")
13.4cm deep (5-1/4")
8.3cm tall without lid (3-1/4")
10.5cm tall with lid (4-1/8")
A very good, clean example with minimal firing marks. Some light crazing and minor staining/wear around the rim. There is a small flea bite on the inside rim of the lid, but cannot be seen when lidded and does not detract at all. Some light wear to foot of the pot.
