A late Victorian/Edwardian oven thermometer, with the original temperature glass mounted into a white ironstone plaque, standing in its own cast iron base.
With black transfer temperature increments running up the left side and the correct heats for roasting and baking up the right, including Puff Paste & bread, Pork, Veal & Pastry, Beef, Mutton and Meat pies.

A crack professionally restored across the screw holes. Some glaze crazing and a flea bite to the back on the top edge. Some minor wear and usage marks and rusting on cast base commensurate with age.
