A Victorian white ironstone pottery milk pail, with gilt 'Pure Milk' lettering, applied handles and fully decorated around the outside in the 'Florentine' pattern, a sepia under-glaze transfer with vibrant hand painted colour detailing.
A stunning large example made by G. L. Ashworth & Brothers Ltd of Hanley, who were later renamed Mason's ironstone China. Circa 1870 - 1880.

Perfect condition with no chips or cracks. Glaze crazing and wear from usage to the gilt band around the rim and the embellishment on the handles.
