A Victorian over mantle wall mirror, with a very unusual decorative cork frame that has been carved and painted to look like tree bark. Produced by 'Brice, Palmer & Co. Mantle Manufacturers' at the end the 19thC, with a large pictorial label to the reverse showing their City Road premises. The business was established in 1870 by W.H Brice in Cannon Street, London, and produced mantles, costumes, jackets, waterproofs and other household items.
Wear and marks where the paint has worn and small bits of cork have been chipped off over the years, otherwise good original condition with no overly significant losses or damage to the glass plate.
