A small Victorian white ironstone lidded pharmacy jar, decorated on one side at the bottom with bold black transfer typography advertising C. J. Hewlett & Son Ltd, London E. C.
A firm of manufacturing chemists who ran from around 1883 to 1960, they specialised in medical and veterinary products and were based at 35-43 Charlotte Rd, London EC2 and later moved to Watford, Hertfordshire.
A lovely little pot in great condition, the underside is marked with the size of 12oz in both black transfer and an embossed 12 on the chamfer of the foot.

Some staining and glaze crazing to the lid but no damage. The pot is in very clean condition with very light wear and staining, but no damage.
