A decorative a sculptural French porcelain glove making former, made by Oyhenart Vichy with green transfer sizing lines and makers mark. Mid 20th Century.
Made to be dipped in liquid latex to mould rubber gloves, the strong porcelain was able to withstand extreme changes in temperature and most chemicals used in producing and vulcanizing the rubber. Complete with a bespoke mahogany stand for display.

Original condition with a small, old hairline on the bottom of one side running from the mounting hole, but does not detract. With some rust on the exposed iron in the mounting holes each side. The turned mahogany stand is made around the original steel peg protruding from the underside, which is cemented into the porcelain with a form of hard plaster.
