A Victorian pottery trivet tile, decorated in black transfer with a scene from chapter 68 of 'The Old Curiosity Shop' by Charles Dickens - 'Mutual delight of Kit and the pony'.

The underside of the tile features a black advertising transfer for Pryke & Palmer, a company of ironmongers and builders merchants in the city of London.

15.5cm Square (6-1/8")

Crazing, staining and usage wear commensurate with age, with the corners slightly nibbled and worn, but no cracks or significant chips/damage.
